Now, this is the story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute

In west Panthalassa born and raised
With unicells was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
Engagin in osmosis outside of the school
When a couple of eukaryotes
Who were up to no good
Started engulfing bacterium in my neighborhood
I got in one little membrane and my parent cell got scared
She said 'You're doing aquatic respiration so you can live up there'

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
Don't make me grow a spine and become a vertebrae!
She gave me a jaw and then she made me ectothermic
I put my lungs to use and said, 'I might as well breath it'.

Sarcopterygii class, yo this is bad
We got lobe fins and and a lot more over bass
Is this what the organisms on pangea live like?
Hmmmmm this might be alright.

But wait, I see the tetrapods, carnivores, all that
Is this the type of place that they should send this amniotic sac?
I don't think so
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the fish who dare

Well uh, my egg hatched and when I came out
I had a lot of feathers and my two wings stuck out
I ain't trying to fly yet.
I just got here!
I aint no dodo I spread my wings and disappeared

Next thing I knew I was covered in fur
And with my four legs I made like a feline and went... purrrr
I found some others and got to baby making
But I thought 'Man forget it' - 'Yo homo to da sapien!"

I pulled up to the cave about seven or eight
And I yelled to the homies 'Yo its cold out there"
With our evolved brains
I was finally there
To chill by my fire and the pelts of a bear.
