Der Schlachtruf aus dem Song “Frontporch life” der Free Bears sagt so ziemlich alles aus über die Band aus dem Ruhrgebiet. Carsten Aufermann (Drums), Reinhold Brieseck (Bass), Norbert Hehemann (Gitarren) und G. Foxman (Gitarren, Gesang) brauchen nicht nur eben dieses Gefühl des freien Denkens ohne den Boden unter den Füßen zu verlieren – sie geben es auch.
Dank der energiegeladenen Live-Shows in Honky-Tonks vor 50 Fans oder auf Open-Airs vor 5.000 Menschen zaubern die 4 Herren Power auf die Bühne.
Sie ordnen sich selbst ein als „Americana-Band“ – was aber nichts anderes bedeutet als Platz für Country und Rock´n´Roll, Blues und Rock, Folk und Swing – Hauptsache Spaß anne Backen und dabei nicht vergessen, ordentliche Musik abzuliefern.
Im 23. Jahr ihrer Existenz haben die Free Bears nichts von ihrem Willen verloren, geile Songs zu covern – aber eben auch geile Songs zu schreiben. Und das so gut, das viele Fans eben diese Perlen fordern und mitsingen oder eigene Tänze dazu kreieren. Mit Ihrer neuen CD im Gepäck düsen sie quer durchs Land, quer durch Europa um ihre Botschaft unters Volk zu bringen: „Habt Spaß, verdammt, verflucht und Hallelujah!“


„On a summer night“ the title of the present album of the FREE BEARS, although the seasons don´t really matter, ´cause the FREE BEARS are rockin the roofs off in spring, winter and autumn as well. So each and every night turns out to be a „summer night“ – an Americana night. Americana means a wild mélange of Country, Rock n Roll, Folk, Blues, Bluegrass and Rock and whatever matters and is whole lotta fun. Having fun is the main point in the 4 musicians life, what else?
2018 will be another cool year of good music, wild shows and givin it all tot he people. And even 2018 will be another year of getting all the pretty girls into smiling and dancing and making their boys hating us because we know what to do.
