An excerpt from "Cortège & Danse Macabre" (Procession and Dance of Death) - the second movement of the symphonic suite "Cantabile", composed by Frederik Magle. Performed by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Conductor: Thomas Dausgaard. Recorded live in the Copenhagen Concert Hall on June 10, 2009.
Cortège and Danse Macabre is based on a poem by His Royal Highness Henrik, The Prince Consort of Denmark.
Notes: at approximately 0:33 the percussionist can be heard playing on real bones (A thigh bone)! And at 1:24 a pipe organ sets in.
