From New York's legendary CBGB to The famed Viper Room in Hollywood Singer songwriter Frankie D'Angelo has performed cross-country with his style of catchy, soulful pop. His combination of crafty songwriting and clever lyrics has earned him two Detroit Music Award nominations, several television appearances and opening slots for national acts including Brett Dennen, Art Alexakis of Everclear, Butch Walker, and The Romantics.
Though a native of Detroit; D'Angelo has also lived in Baton Rouge, Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago where he cut his teeth as a performer and writer. Lured by the successful power-pop scene of Chicago in the late 90's, D'Angelo relocated there and founded the The Gelheads. The pop-rick trio quickly exploded on the Chicago scene scoring national radio play, a stint on the Vans Warped Tour and several opening billings with bands such as The Killers, KISS, Fall Out Boy and Everclear.

In 2005 The band took a hiatus and D'Angelo returned to his native Detroit. With a year-long break from music, D'Angelo began his renaissance of channeling the experiences of that past year into music and has continued building upon ever since.

Along with a successful career in community relations, D'Angelo embraces Detroit both Musically and professionally. "There's something special about being from Detroit. There's a spirit of resilience and pride in the people in this region." Says D'Angelo "The dynamic of this city and the issues we face have provided me with a incessant stream of inspiration."

D'Angelo is currently working on writing, recording and producing a full-length record which he will independently release in the spring.
