It may take some time to really get to know John Wilson. The producer/songwriter/rapper best known as Magic Juan is as complex and multifaceted as they come. On his up and coming release, The Sure Bet. Magic not only exposes us to his life as urban Latino but also reveals his many personal and emotional dimensions.



Magic Juan El Duro has been a lead vocalist and composer of the internationally acclaimed Proyecto Uno, a merengue hip hop pioneers. Juan wrote and rapped his way to number one with songs like Brinca!!, Latinos and El Tiburon which were wildly successful in south and Central America, Mexico, Europe and in predominantly Latin and urban sections of the United States. A national Bud lite TV Campaign along side hollywood star John Leguizamo followed.



Despite his success with the 3 million selling multi-platinum group and world tours, Magic parted company with them and went on to record a solo album La Prueba, in late 2002 on his own record company, Flia Recordings The album sprung off new hits like La Ultima vez Feat. Eddy Herrera and Meniando La Pera. It also went on to receive nominations for urban album and artist of the year in Univisions 2004 Premios lo Nuestro awards. La Ultima vez was also nominated for tropical radio song of the year in the 2004 Latin Billboard awards.



Born in Washington Heights, NY and raised in Teaneck, NJ, Magic was influenced musically by icons like LL Cool J, Johnny Ventura, and Run DMC. He has worked with the likes of The Beatnuts, Swizz Beats, The late great Tito Puente, El Jeffrey, Tony Touch, Rell, and Huey Dunbar (DLG).



He has currently been touring the world, most recently Australia with Latin Heavyweight Chayanne. He continues touring throughout the year with artist like Ivy Queen, Don Omar and Daddy Yankee. He is also an actor who has showed his skills in independent films such as "Harlem Blues" and "Buscando un Sueno" with Lauren Velez.



He launched his very own pre paid calling card, "The Magic Juan Phone Card", in 2006



His latest and possibly most ambitious project is currently under works. Its a CD/DVD titled Quis*Calle. The project will mark the first time urban artists and producers of Dominican decent collaborate on one album. The roster includes DOSE,O.G.Black & Master Joe, Don Miguelo, The Chosen Few, Ilegales, Big Mato, The Beatnuts and many more.



In 2007, he doesnt stop making major moves, launching his very own liquor "GRAVITY", with Harbrew Imports. Its a blue long island ice tea in a bottle.



His fans have dubbed him "El Duro" (The Best) and "El Rey de Santo Domingo" (The Dominican King).WE AGREE!!!
