DESCRIPTION:
"Lest we forget" - We felt that it is important to do something, however small and insignificant, to honor and remember those who fought and currently still fight to defend freedom, as well as those affected by the impact of war. The Maniacal 4 members were born in three different countries and we are free to make music because of the sacrifices that were made by others. Please, thank a veteran today for Veterans Day in the U.S.A., Remembrance Day in Canada, or wherever you may find yourself.

The melody we're playing is taken from a choral arrangement that Matt's wife, Ali, performed with her choir last year in Louisiana. The poem was written by a Canadian soldier, Lt.-Col John McCrae, MD, in the year 1915 after presiding over the funeral of his friend.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
