Flamenco Dance Areti has established itself as one of the forerunners of flamenco in Australia today. As company director, Areti continues to provide an exciting and vibrant approach to the artform by offering her company and students the absolute latest in flamenco developments and culture.



Areti frequently travels to Spain for professional development working intensively on techinque, style and choreography at the prestigious dance academy "Amor de Dios" in Madrid. Over the years her dance maestros have included: Belén Fernandez, La China, Carmela Greco, Rafaela Carasco, Maria Magdalena, Ciro, and La Truco. Areti has also studied in Sevilla with Manolo Marin, Javier Cruz, and El Mistela.



Areti conducts classes at the Odeon Theatre in Norwood and at The Norwood Ballet Centre. She teaches all the major Flamenco Palos (forms) including: Buleria, Tangos, Solea, Solea por Buleria, Alegria, Seguiriya, Sevillanas, Jaleo, Tientos and Tarantos. Classes are conducted with live Flamenco Guitar accompaniment.



Master Classes and Workshops are also held each year with the masters of the art form. These have included internationally renowned soloist Belén Fernandez, who has toured Australia on occasions with Paco Peña . Star dancer Silvia de la Rosa of Ballet Nacional de España has also conducted master classes at the academy.
