Of Love, Sin, and Redemption (an original song) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 21, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
So this is a song I wrote after church this Easter Sunday. I felt like writing about man's history with God, and how He achieved salvation for us in spite of our stubbornness and pride. I especially wanted to emphasize the beautiful victory achieved by Christ over death, seeing as how His resurrection is what makes life worth living. Below are the lyrics for the song. I hope y'all enjoy it :)

Verse 1
He brought forth life in the darkest of voids
Sun, moon, and stars in the sky
Beasts of the field and the air were made good
As were men for His desire
But serpent deceived Eve with fruit of the tree
Heralding indignity
Pureness of the soul polluted and stained
Banished from Eden's domain

Verse 2
His chosen subjects faltered in their steps
Try as hard as they might
Perverting His love into insincere laws
So blinded to His desires
So in the form of man he came into the world
Destined for redemption's day
Speaking a wisdom so good and divine
The carpenter from Galilee

Verse 3
Scorned and rejected by many, was he
Loving them all the same
Betrayed in the night by one of his own
Denied by another, as he claimed
Brought before judges of man, he stood
There unjustly condemned
He was laid bare on the cross at the Skull
Crying out then yielding

Chorus
He bled, he bled freely
Bearing a tree and a crown all the way to Calvary
He died among thieves, but rose as a king
Victorious, now seated on His throne

Verse 4
Stone and the grave couldn't hold Him down
He conquered sin and made us his own
Bridging the divide rent by man's sin and shame
Tearing through the veil
And now the gates are open to His Kingdom, not far
Welcoming all who may seek
Promising of joy and an eternity
With the One worthy of everything
