Faya a youthful new sound to music were signed to Def Jam and released

their first introductory tune in November 2003. Boops was a cover of

Sly and Robbie that neatly highlighted their ability to flip from a

pop style to a dance hall style. It was followed by further singles,

'Must Be Love which was in the UK top 20 ' and 'Too Hot', both in

2004, and the album 'For Your Attention' in early 2005, which reached

gold status after being released in Japan.

The album established their reality dance hall credentials because it

featured the mighty Bounty Killer and UK dance hall phenomenon Sun

Cycle Crew. Producers included the top Jamaican-based producer Jazz wad

and Skatta.

Emma and Tenza know who their music idols are: "we'd much rather hear

Elephant Man, Bounty Killer or Lady Saw. They're energy levels are

closer to us."

The girls write most of their own material, Tenza says "We enjoy the

process of constructing the songs almost as much as performing them.

One of us will come with a punch line then we will both go away and

come up with our parts, bringing something different to the song,

bounce ideas off of each other. We usually start the concepts without

a riddim but if we hear a riddim's hot and pumping then that can

sometimes inspire us to find a chorus or topic."

Completing  there new album has been the highlight of the year for

the girls so much of a highlight that they flew to Jamaica to work

with some of the hottest producers there is out there. Luckily they

also had the chance to vibe and work with some of the biggest names in

dance hall including Ward 21, Voicemail, Flava, Chico, Itallis and so

much more. Emma says Travelling all the way to Jamaica to make an

album has been very exciting as well as being a wicked experience

simply because Jamaica is the root of where our music's coming from,

Tenza interjects I always used to tell Emma we needed to go to Jamaica

because the atmosphere is more realistic and inspirational towards

lyric writing due to the fact that things that happen out there are

real and you get to experience them first hand, It was also a good

move because the musical vibe takes you to a higher level.

What can we expect from the new album??

Well the girls have got it all figured out as the album beholds a

more mature sound and a wider range of topics with songs such as DO

YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE, a song which covers most of what is going

on in the world; violence, gun crime, the booming etc. There's also

been a strong production team that have been working on this long

awaited follow up album including big names such as Danny Champagne,

who has produced five songs on there new album, including there second single She On Fire featuring Voice Mail. Danny has also produced some of the household names in dance hall such

as the big hit by Voicemail Weddy Time and Angel with Downtown Girl .

He has also produced for Assasin, Bounty Killa, Spragga Benz and many

more. The new album as producers such as Alberosie from geejam

productions. Christopher Birch from big yard productions, who produces

there first single from there new album Feel The Heat

The girls are now signed to Universal. Its has been a world wind of

events but the girls are ready and raring, to promote the new up

coming album, titled:  FEEL THE HEAT. So watch out for Faya hotta than ever.
