about the band

Dreamy, kaleidoscopic soundscapes turn charged art-rock numbers like oil in water. The softest most intimate parts are drawn upwards where light ripples tenderly off every exposed surface. From each aspect, golden threads of harmony and refrain weave voice to guitar in delicate but sturdy webs of melody and instrumentation. The result is a fragrant blend of emotionally-fuelled songs; combusting brightly with every breath and carried far and wide on the melancholic wind billowing in every sail.

A forward-thinking variety of techniques and instrumentation provide a rich recorded sound reminiscent of a warmed OK Computer. Listen for vocally-driven tones rooted in the understated power of Jeff Buckley and dusted with the fragility of Damien Rice. Soaring vocals, close harmony and sensitive guitar detailing make for a delicious and inspiring performance which blurs the boundary of folk and rock, old and new.

Not forced nor scripted, Fallen View's songs are forged in a love of musicality and a gift for making music that people enjoy to hear. A yearning to create original, yet accessible music has earned Fallen View a niche in several different genres and acquired an eclectic, dedicated fan-base.

Formed in Nottingham in 2003, Fallen View later relocated to Bristol where fans witnessed packed performances at some of the South West’s most prestigious venues. Now based in the leafy suburbs of South-West London, Fallen View look certain to break big waves in the country’s capital. With over 7000 hits and 8000 listens to date, FV’s ever-popular myspace site plays host to over 5000 friends. With a brand spanking new website on the way and plenty of new material, 2008 looks to be a big year for this inspired and captivating band.

WHAT Y'ALL SAY:

'Wonderful simplicity. stripped of posture and overproduction. Shapes is a brilliantly odd kind of acoustic based ambient rock, a sound swirling like a fairground waltz in slow motion. The biting guitars of I'll Keep My Watch show that the band can master a range of sounds and emotions. I've fallen and I am sure you will too.'
