DESCRIPTION:
I'll get this out the way first. Sorry about the video quality. Recorded it on my iPhone due to my camera being out of action. But the audio is the main feature here. This video is the first time I've used audio recorded in Cubase. So no more hum from my camera or birds tweeting in the background.

Onto the song(s). Fair to Midland are an awesome band formerly signed to Serj Tankian's Serjical Strike Records. He's how I first discovered them when they supported him on his first European solo tour. The tracks are the opening 2 from Fair to Midland's 4th studio album Arrows & Anchors. Heavens to Murgatroyd (great name for a song) is just an intro track but I included it because it cues in Whiskey & Ritalin nicely. Song kicks in at 00:44 Tuning on the record is BF#BF#BB but I used regular drop B as the whole song is played on the lower strings.

Gear for this was the Ibanez RGT42. I hardtailed it late last year and it behaves much better with tuning now. As I mentioned I recorded using Cubase LE5 through my POD X3. The tone is a Jim Root style sound I've been developing recently comprising of Line 6's Citrus D-30 Orange style amp model and Classic Distortion, modelled on a ProCo Rat pedal. I'll post tone details in the video.
