Voici mon remix.
--------
My childhood was full of songs and melodies. In 1988, when Mario Pelchat released 'Reste-Là', I thought the riff was very catchy. I could have heard that riff for hours without being tired of it.
I thought about doing a House version for years. Recently, doing 'Art Of Sampling', I was inspired by that Alan Braxe remix of 'I Feel Good Things For You', and I thought 'Reste-Là' deserved a similar treatment, so that it could totally fit what I had in mind when I was a kid.
This remix is unofficial. I did it for fun.
Mario Pelchat is a francophone singer from Quebec, Canada. He is also well known in Lebanon and in France. I saw him live once: he was the only artist to do the first part of Madonna in 1993 when she performed 'The Girly Show'.
Pelchat doesn't do in the pop/dance genre anymore. He usually prefer ballads.
'Reste-Là' means 'Stay There'. The lyrics are:
'Je veux que mon amour te protège
Je veux que tu te donnes à moi toute la nuit
Qu'il n'existe plus d'autres manèges
Qui voudraient t'arracher à ma vie'
(Translation)
'I want my love to protect you
I want you to give yourself all night
That there are no other existing rides
Who would want to tear you off my life'
