During a late-night binge on Georges Méliès extensive film catalogue; Christo Jones was astounded to discover that plot elements of the 1907 film 'Satan en Prison' (Satan in Prison) aligned beautifully with the music and lyrics of Complicate. Christo secured the rights to the footage and made a series of respectful and well-timed edits to the five minute silent film to whimsically express the narrative of the song.

Christo is in awe of the late filmmakers work and his pioneering film techniques. "While my music is not worthy of this beautiful footage or his extraordinary talent, Méliès openly referenced the work of others throughout his amazing films. I hope that Méliès might appreciate the cheekiness of using his pioneering cut-and-paste technique to create this film clip because I also use a similar technique when I’m making music."
