The University of Huddersfield Brass Band is one of the University's most active ensembles, with a very busy schedule of concerts across West Yorkshire.

For the majority of the year the band is under the musical direction of Philip McCann, rehearsing once a week to prepare for the many performances the band take part in.

UniBrass is now a staple part of the band’s calendar and they look forward to organising, planning for and playing in it every year. The annual conductor for this contest, Jonathan Beatty, works extremely hard alongside the band outside of university hours to ensure the best performance they can achieve.

Huddersfield came 11th at UniBrass 2016.
