Sue Childers was from Flint, Mi who went to Flint's Northern High School. She performed in Flint at Mr. C's supper club. My father country singer Jimmy Minor was working as a DJ at country radio station WBBC in Flint where he was the Michigan DJ of the year for that year and he also was working with Les Emery who owned a music company, record label and a restaurant. Jim was producing records for Les's Western Chuck Wagon record label. At that time he met song writer Bob Cloud and they formed Everest Recording Company and Sue Childers was the first artist they recorded. Darold Hyde said he played bass on one of Sue's recording and they did it at the National Guard Armory. Darold was working for Jim and Les Emery at the time he said. Sue's record was the 1st major recording ever in Flint. Darold said we made history in 1955 or 1956. One 45 by Sue Childers was released on Modern Pop-Hit Recordings record label which was owned by Les Emery. The songs on that 45 were "Kiss Mus Tree" and "Ooh Ooh Golly Gee"After Sue did this recording she turned in her contract, she said she didnt like country music.In 1964 she released a Jazz LP titled INTRODUCING SUE CHILDS. This lp now fetches upward of $500 bucks because the famous J.R. Monterose is on two of the tracks. Sue went on to be the female vocalist for Frank Sinatra, Jr. Song was mastered from the master Everest Recording Company reel to reel audio tape. Todd Minor.
