I discover new 'old' tracks every year. I really like to dig deep and listen to everything I find.
Eric Svensson is a Swedish DJ and I first heard of him as one of the remixer associated with the label Sidelake Productions in the late 1990's. I really liked his work back then. Then I decided to check what he's been up to in the past 10 years. I was blown away once again.
'You Are Somebody!' was released in 2002. It includes vocal samples of 'Blue Collar Workers Of America' spoken by Martha Jean Steinberg 'The Queen'. She was a radio personality and made a few 'spoken word' records, such as this one, re-used in an anthemic House track. You can see her face in the video: she is featured on the record Eric S. have in his hands in the records shop. Nice blink. :)
The video for the track is very good. At least, it's not the festival of tits.
