EMBARKER is the project of Michael Roy Barker. EMBARKER uses homemade circuit bent instruments, touchscreen controlled laptop, and voice. His sound sources come from the documenting of sound clips and samples of these homemade circuit bent instruments, hacked electronics, double bass, and field recordings. These are used for live regurgitation and manipulation using small touch screens he developed with the help of STEIM (NL). MrB currently plays in Sharks With Wings, The George Steeltoe Ensemble, and PIMA group. Michael has performed at the High Zero Festival in 2002 (which allegedly ruined his life), studied at STEIM (NL), been artist in Residence at the Experimental TV Center in collaboration with RF Avatar, and has a profound obsession with found media where he has released a CDR of found answering machine tapes on Heresee Records. http://vimeo.com/91978049
