Hope you guys had a lovely mother's day. I feel like most of us don't appreciate our mothers enough. In my case, I rarely see or talk to my mom. You see, when she comes home from work, I am at school. When I come home from school, she is getting ready to sleep. She wakes up as early as 6am to go to work every day. All for what? I wonder this so many times.

In Korea, she could live with her husband, teaching little children piano, have fun surrounded by her friends and family. But, in order to provide a better future for me and my brother, she gave up all those luxury to live in a foreign land. Going through many ridicules and pain, she keeps her mouth closed, not saying anything, in fear of making me worry.

I often wonder, perhaps she wouldn't be going through so much pain and hardships if I wasn't born. If I never existed, she could still be in Korea, following her passion with the man she loves so much. I remember sharing this thought with her when I was in 4th grade. She looked me in the eyes and said "You and your brother are worth every hardships that the world throws at me. There's nothing more your father and I want other than you guys' happiness."

How unworthy am I to have you, mom. I find God's great love for me through yours, daily. How can I describe how much I love and appreciate you? Words are simply not enough. So.. I tell you how much I love you through the language I know best.
