Jordi Maranges began his career in the late 90s with different musical groups . In 1998 shapes "El doable en el ojo " , a band that takes its name from a song by British band Tindersticks . Swamp rock, cinematic atmospheres and baroque orchestrations defined their sound. " Nit " was the band 's first album (produced by Primeros Pasitos , distributed in France and Spain ) with him managed to participate in festivals Benicassim (FIB 2000) , Mercat de la Música Viva de Vic and Isladencanta . In 2002 released the second album, " Diablomar " (also with label Primeros Pasitos ) , participating again in the Benicassim Festival (FIB 2002) , and also in Bam .
Once this stage closed Jordi decides to leave the island to settle in Barcelona and start a new project with pianist Marc Melia, " El Piano ardiendo " , a formation that took elements of cabaret, theater and pop expressionist creating a distinctly personal sound . Together they toured the main slum Bcn ( shutting the legendary venue " La Paloma " ) and with astonish vampiric Lydia Lunch to which they supported in the Mercat de les Flors . Later his creative greed led him to Berlin where he continued shaping their sound and collaborated with singer / German actress Cora Frost.
After Berlin stage, returned to Barcelona and finally published what will be his first solo album "El baile de los cangrejos " (2011 , Manlay recording) , a work that has received critical acclaim ( RNE3 , Mondosonoro , Vanity, trends magazine) and has led the artist to perform in different scenarios of Spain , Greece ( festival Ymitos with Greek singer Giorgis Christodoulou ) and Germany. Some of their cuts (Miss Dilemas ) was selected as the theme for a program of Spanish National TV 2 which is still on the air.
" Circo del Amor" (2012 , autoediado ) its penultimate musical adventure as ep ; the artist mark a turning point in his previous work to undertake a physical and mental in the light of his native Mallorca return. " Circo del amor" (where for the first time the sound approaches the dance floor ) became a summer- hit that revolutionized the torrid Majorcan nights . This work was presented live at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Palma , Es Baluard.
Jordi is currently finalizing mixes his new job, an ep where their natural ability to blend pop melodies with atmospheric and dark textures close to folk rock and psychedelic cut. Andrés Buele on doublebass , Toni Gelabert on drums, Alex Terton on keyboards, have become new allies to storm the national scene. New surprises await and dizziness this bard or unclassifiable chansonnier born in the Mediterranean and universal vocation.
