AMERICAN FOLK RIOT:
The Electric Mountain Rotten Apple Gang is an Acoustic MinorGrass Ensemble, inspired into existence by the traditional sounds of Bluegrass, Mountain String and Klezmer Bands of the past and present. "The Gang" is a high energy stage act that owns up the the claim "we are half horse, half alligator and 100% Texas tornado" and a ripstavin' good time for young and old alike, with just enough tradition to keep granny happy and enough raucous, riotous, revelry for the young'ns to chew on.
First formed in April of 2005 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of north Texas{ where they won best folk acoustic act in 2007}, by Brothers Adam and Darrin Kobetich. "the Gang" has been hammering out it's own brand traditionalist inspired music, even mixing a bit of Eastern Europe with the Grass. Adam Kobetich moved to Austin TX in 2007 and with the current line up the hellbent bluegrass continues"The Austin faction of the ebullient Electric Mountain Rotten Apple Gang fiercely possesses mandolin, accordion, banjo, and upright." -Austin Sound check out the Austin Soundoff.http://www.austinsound.net/?s=The+Electric+Mountain+Rotten+Apple+GangThe Electric Mountain Rotten Apple Gang is dedicated to the idea of introducing people to traditional music that would not have previously thought about it at all and through us seek out the true source. We feel that for people to see bands that love the music and hear the incorporation of other styles that can blend into it is a way to show people from Appalachia that their music and culture has made a positive impact on this country and to show everyone else that this music is relevant to their modern hustle and bustle lives.
