Clem Hoot, guitar player extraordinaire, a founding member of The Flametrick Subs, and rock 'n' roll showman galore. Hoot received his first guitar at age eleven, and within a year, he already knew that rock 'n' roll would be his destiny (a hot chick told him so), as he started his first band covering Jimi Hendrix, and Rolling Stones tunes in Kuwait!?! Then, along came punk and ska, and Hoot's never been the same since the late 70's! During the dreaded 80's, Hoot was hiding out in Switzerland where he was a-skankin' and a-rockin' with a ska band, then later moved to Norway, where he met the JACKMAN brothers. The Norway years were cold, but good. ImNebel (later The Colors Turned Red), the name of the post-punk rock band featuring Haakon Larsen-guitar, Johnny Hazard-vocals, Bengt Hansen-piano, Morten Jackman-drums, and Pl Jackman-bass. When Pl took off to Michagan in 1984, Hoot played that mean Rickenbacker bass for ImNebel, and even co-wrote the song, "The Colors Turned Red", which reached 4 in the norwegian charts in 1985. In 1989, Hoot helped start up The Flametrick Subs. Hoot played lead guitar/vocals, and produced four Flametrick CD's, two cassette releases, and a DVD release. The first recording of The Flametrick Subs from 1993, a cassette release, "Too Hot To Hoot" (Texas Flat Lizard), and the second cassette, a self-titled demo released in 1995. The first Flametrick Subs CD in 1997, "Amaze Your Friends With X-Ray Glasses!" (Teen Rebel/Texas Flat Lizard), and in 1998, "Undead At The Black Cat Lounge" (Texas Flat Lizard). A third CD in 2002, "Something in Japanese" (Kranzke/Texas Flat Lizard). The fourth CD, "Voodoo Doo" (Texas Flat Lizard), released in 2006. Also, check out a live DVD, "Six Feet Deep In The Heart Of Texas", recorded live at Antone's in Austin, Texas August '05.
