David Hasselhoff's Haircut (D.H.H.) was formed by several well-known musicians from the Virginia Beach music scene. All veterans of previously successful bands, Nick Clark (Formerly and Founding Member of Duburbia), Tom Gallardo (of Litchfield), and Trevon Chambers (of Skull Holds Brain), came together to create a new sound of their own. With a parade of drummers rivaling Spinal Tap, D.H.H. has played with many of the local Virginia Beach/Norfolk areas best percussionists. The name of the band came out of the mind of original drummer Rich Elkins. D.H.H. combines the rude boy reggae ethic that emerged from the collision of the Rasta immigration of the late 70s to early 80s into the British punker scene with the laid back beach attitude of the Virginia Beach Surf Scene. At a show, one could be caught up in sweaty aggressive pit dancing to punk rock only to be swept away by a cloud of ganja smoke and psychedelic delays of dub reggae in the very next song (sometimes in the same song). D.H.H. can follow the mood of the crowd and always puts on a stellar performance. D.H.H. has only been together for a short time, but their reputation grows exponentially on a daily basis. Featured in several Local Music Magazines (including Splash Magazine, and PortFolio Weekly) as well as the mainstream newspapers (Virginia Pilot-Ledger Star, and Link Magazine), D.H.H. gather new fans from all walks of life. Fans that remember when reggae/punk fusion first came around during the emergence of punk rock with bands such as the Clash and Bad Brains can be found mixing it up with kids sporting fake IDs just to get into the club. D.H.H. has broad appeal. With the short amount of time the band has been together, D.H.H. looks toward the future with hope and open minds.
