Hisham Abu Me'eteg, a leading Bedouin singer and oud player from Jordan is joined by top Israeli musicians to create an exciting atmosphere of musical unity. Fusing past and present, ancient tribal music and dynamic youth culture, east and west. Urban Desert creates a unique electric Bedouin party, taking audiences to a whole new dimension of togetherness.



Urban Desert is a marriage of Hisham with Assaf Givati of The Fools of Prophecy (one of the leading bands in Israel). As a gifted guitarist, composer and song writer, Givati has created musical scores for movies as well as many top hits, with a flavor of groovy, funk & black music.


Urban Desert was conceived after Hisham and Assaf met in a desert festival. The deep bond & friendship between them led to the creation of a powerful new musical archetype, bringing together an amazing group of Jewish, Moslem and Christian musicians. Between them, an uplifting new language is born, that can be understood by anyone - the language of pure musical creativity.
