BIO
Born Daniel Robert Ford, the moniker "Dr." was adopted in the mid 90's, when it was DJ Dr.Ford, and San Francisco was the Rave music capitol in America. Daniel's early music education centered around public school music programs, where the drums became his first love. In 1994, Daniel first stumbled accross the music which would change his life after going to his first all night rave, at Home Base in Oakland California. In less than two years, Daniel had made the change from fan to DJ, where his love of music, and his desire to perform became one.
In 1998, Daniel met Bill Williams of Bill Williams Productions, who produced his first track, "This Feelin'." Daniel and Bill went on to produce four other songs, the last of which was called "You're So Beautiful," a song which is still played in danceclubs all over San Francisco. It was this experience, and the birth of RockDog Productions, that led Daniel to return to school. In 2003, he moved to Los Angeles, to focus on the recording arts. In 2006, Daniel graduated from Musician's Institute in Hollywood with a Degree in Music Theory, keyboard and performance focus, and a Minor / Journeyman in Studio Engineering.
During this time, Daniel was hired on by Chris Contogouris and the Mint Studio of Los Angeles, made famous from the Mint Nightclub which was a Jazz hotspot for many years. It was this year of work every night producing for Chris, that was Daniel's real education, as he could put to test the theories learned everyday at college with great artists such as Alex Morissen, Richie Rich, Ronnie King (Tupac/Offspring) and DJ Battlecat (Snoop Dogg/Nate Dogg.) Ronnie King would become a powerful inspiration and lilfelong friend, while Richie Rich and DJ Battlecat gave Daniel his indoctrinization into the world of Hip Hop music. Daniel even had the chance to produce the last song ever for King Lou
of Snoop Dogg's East Sidaz.
In 2005, Daniel formed a partnership with D. Keith Davis and Cinematic Tunes. This partnership was Daniel's introduction to the world of music for TV and film, and led to shows such as MTV's Punk'd and Pimp My Ride.
After two national Country music tours, critically aclaimed productions, and an ever growing Production business, Daniel has found himself split between two cities he loves, Nashville Tennessee and the city he calls home, Los Angeles California.
