While in L.A. touring, I bought one of my favorite future soul Artist Cd. When I played the joint in the Office, I noticed it wasn't the sh** I was used to hearing them do. I checked the CD credits and logos and saw they got signed to a Label. This really bothered me the music was watered down and sounded like R&B. At that moment a light bulb lit up over my curly head wondering why the music sounded this way. I figured it out quickly and decided to expose it. I came up with "SOULED OUT" a Mini Documentary on the Indy Soul Movement and Underground Hip Hop. I went into why we have to sell out our sound to gain a different audience that will never buy our music anyway. When we do this we lose our key audience trying to please a new one. I pulled my strings with my Promoters, Djs, Producers and Artists in the Indy Movement to get their take on what I had been seeing. It was ironic that everybody thought the same as me without me even mentioning how I felt. I purchased my own camera and thanks to YouTube I taught myself how to edit. This will be a challenge for me, but one I will gladly take on with my all. I will continue to get the Soul Movement and Underground Hip Hop out here the best way I possibly can. I have a few more Artists to interview ,but for now here's the trailer.
