Fans of Bob Dylan/Donovan might like this, an acoustic song written about the British miners strike in 1984-85, the video includes the sharp images from around that time. It is a rare trip into acoustic folk music for me and it is part of my "Mayberry Hill" Collection of songs. Here is how it fits in:-

....During 1986, Local Miner Alan Whelms of Ashley Croft pit nr. Mayberry Hill wrote this song about the struggles of the previous years' miners strike, trying to write from the point of view a "neutral" observer.
The pit was on the hit list to be closed and at the time of writing of the song was given a stay of execution. Although the sadness surrounding its eventual closure would have been lost on Seth Wainwright ...(see the song Mayberry Hill!).....
