At the heart of every great band is a great song, a centre piece that all else depends upon. Take a minute to listen to Downhills Home and you'll see these guys are no strangers to the thought. Their poetic, melodic songs are laden with lyrical beauty and played out with such graceful restrain, and with a rawness and swagger reminiscent of the Faces or an ‘exile' era Stones.

Since forming in the summer of 2006 in Melbourne Australia, the band has played countless shows all over the country. Their versatile approach has taken them from hot, sweaty bars one night and ‘the band in corner' pub shows the next, to festival stages and even sold out theatres whilst supporting the Dandy Warhols on their 2008 Australian tour. In this short time, Downhills Home have independently released two LP's to great critical acclaim.

Their debut Minor Birds was voted in the best Aussie releases for 2007 in Rhythms magazine's readers and writers polls. The Australian gave it 4/5 stars, Inpress gave them "single of the week" for To Make Light Of Our Load, and Beat magazine described it as "an album of utterly compelling beauty"

The kudos continued for the band with the follow up album the Wolves the Wolves in the Woods, released April '09, inspiring the following words of praise.
