DESCRIPTION:
The "One Name" or "Holiness" Church believes that God will protect them if they pick up rattlesnakes or handle burning things or drink poison. If they are bitten they don't go to the hospital for anti venom because they say it is the perfect time to go if they die and if they get better they say it is the perfect time to get better.
I like the attitude of these people very much. This footage comes from a movie that used to be available for download on the internet. I combined it with my own song, which includes some Native Am singing and some hymn like singing. I respect these people and love them. The fellow who is seen holding 7 rattlesnakes was bitten and died a few years ago.

There is no comparison, but I really feel that ART is like this if you make it your life's work. It'll get you in the end, but MAN what a rush! Thank you Jesus!
I think I've read every book every written on the Snake Cults but have never visited one of the churches. That is my life's dream.
By the way, these cults are MONOTHEISTIC in other words, they believe JESUS is GOD that is why they are called ONE NAME churches.
I think it must have developed from the Native Americans in that area because we think Snakes are Holy too!

I could watch these people all day long. Collective Faith is the most beautiful thing in the world - but note how the individual is given complete support by the community in the freedom of his or her personal connection with G*d. Love the intergenerational joy! I can't tell you how this moves me.

You probably think the production sounds cheap and lo fi and like I recorded it in my bedroom with a cheap 57 microphone. It probably sounds like I am playing all the instruments and it probably seems to you like this will never be seen on commercial TV or heard on commercial radio.
And you would be right. But we're dancing with angels.
