DESCRIPTION:
TJ heads out to Philadelphia to meet up with some old friends of his to see Don McCloskey perform Live at the Tin Angel! If you don't have time to watch the entire show at the moment at least check out some of my favorite songs by Don McCloskey titled, 'My Focken Glockenspiel' at 1:39:40 and 'Return of The Freak MC' at 2:08:58 these are my absolute favorite hope you enjoy! Don McCloskey's shows are a Locally-sourced, whiskey-infused potato ballads served on a bed of foot-stomping, table-bashing, bastardized Irish-American sea shanties and topped off with a drizzling of 5th generation sean-nos, Catholic guilt and grudge-keeping and craic.Tons and tons of craic. This show was bananas. The entire family band was there in the house and their good friend Allie Dobyns even kicked off the night with a few songs. This all happened on Friday March 18, 2016. If you don't know who Don McCloskey is read some information about him below.

'Don McCloskey: If you were at either sold-out performances of "The Nightman Cometh" starring the cast of It's Always Sunny at the Tower Theater in 2009, you may have asked yourself, "Who was the opening act who did the mash-up of The Action News Theme Song, White Rabbit and Peter Gabriel's Games Without Frontiers? And furthermore, why? The answer to the first question is Don McCloskey. The second question is harder to answer. There's a wide breadth to what this eclectic, independent, Brooklyn-based songwriter and performer tackles musically and lyrically. McCloskey has developed a dedicated fan base and has been selling out venues large and small in Philadelphia for almost a decade. His music has appeared cross platform on Philly radio from WXPN to WMMR and has been featured in everything from MTV's reality show The Hills to Michael Moore's Academy Award-winning documentary, Bowling For Columbine. Several songs of his have appeared in episodes of Sunny, including this season's upcoming "High School Reunion" episode and his unabashed jock jam "Unstoppable" is played at every Phillies postseason home game since 2009. McCloskey manages to will these disparate musical worlds together to make for a cohesive, energetic and compelling live show. In addition to his own national touring he has toured in support of Donavon Frankenreiter and G Love and Special Sauce.'
