Whether you know him as Stephen Seidita, DJ Double S, or The Skeemers, this DJ/ Producer has covered much ground in the music industry and has made a well-known and respected name for himself along the way. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Stephen started DJing in 1983 during a very prolific period in music when his early influences were the likes of Shep Pettibone, "Jellybean" Benitez, and Larry Levan. Their music could be heard on radio stations in New York such as the original WKTU and Kiss FM, as well as experienced live in legendary niteclubs such as The Funhouse and The Paradise Garage. It was during this period, Stephen realized music was what he wanted to do with his life.
A developed DJ with tremendous skills and talent, Stephen was able to land residencies in his native New York at The Palladium, Limelight, The Tunnel, and Roxy to name a few. Motivated by his early influences and experiences on the DJ circuit, Stephen took the next step in his career by entering the recording studio in 1993 and producing house music for numerous domestic record labels under the name DJ Double S. He also showed his talent and diversity when he gained international recognition for his hip hop production work on AV8 Records as DJ Double S and The Skeemers with Isaac "DJ Ize 1" Santiago".
In recent years, Stephen has been busy DJing at various niteclubs in New York to hot spots in Miami, Las Vegas, Mexico, and Canada. Between his DJ gigs, Stephen has completed many original productions and remixes. Most notably for Peter Presta's UK imprint Apple Jaxx, with a huge club anthem titled "Doom" and his remix of "Good Life" by Vinyl Life on Rexhouse Music which was heard in clubs worldwide during the Summer of 2006. He has also done work for Ray Roc's ROC-It Records, Tiger Stripes, DJ Dozia, and Jack D Elliot. His music is played in niteclubs around the world, to radio mixshows, and charted by the industry's biggest jocks.
