Song from "Zlatni hit" competition evening of the Belgrade's International Music Fair (MEđunarodni SAjam Muzike) MESAM 1988. The national and the international competitions were held and broadcasted from Studio 8 of TV Belgrade (Serbian TV). The winner of "Zlatni hit" was decided by the votes of 12 radio stations around Yugoslavia. There were 27 songs in competition, Đorđe's song finished 20th with 28 points. All the songs (except "Vrisnula bih noćas"by Nera) were released on a double vinyl compilation by Jugoton.

Mesam was a popular music festival usually held in December (exceptions apply) in Belgrade from 1984-1996. In its best years there were 2 national competitions - Parada Hitova & Pop Festival (1986-1987).

Đorđe David (Đorđe Nikolić) is a rock singer from Belgrade, Serbia. He started as an actor and he appeared in several Serbian and in a few foreign movies, before he started singing. He was a back singer-dancer for Dado Topić at the Yugoslav pre-selection for Eurovision 1986 ("Ljubav") and debuted as a singer at Mesam 1986 ("Cvet sa licem zveri), In the late 1980s he had few festival appearances: Mesam (1988 - "Pogledaj me", 1990 "Grešnice"), Makfest 1989 ("Čuvstvuvam") Beogradsko Proleće 1990 ("Moj bol"). In 1989 he joins Dejan Petković in the vocal quartet specially created for the Yugoslav pre-selection for Eurovision, where had a successful performance of "Voli me opet", finishing 3rd. They tried again the next year with "Ti i ja" (4th).

In 1994 he became the lead vocalist in a Serbian rock band Generacija 5 and at that time he took the stage alias Đorđe David. With Generacija 5 he recorded one studio album, Svet Je Tvoj ("The World is Yours" - 1997) and one live album, Unplugged & Live (1995). In 1995 he also recorded his first solo album called Balkan ("The Balkans").
In 2000 he left Generacija 5 and joined the rock band called Fuzzbox. An year later Đorđe David & Fuzzbox released the album simply called "Đorđe David & Fuzzbox".
After splitting up with Fuzzbox, Đorđe David formed a new band called "Đorđe David & Gang", that later changed their name to Death Saw.
