Miss Sheila was born in South Africa in 1979, then moved to New York by the age of 5, there she lived her childhood and in 1992 moved to Portugal. As a teenager she discovered clubbing, dance music and DJs.
Fascinated by the art of mixing records and music, she decided to learn and some shit started happening. Shes invited to spin at a local night club on a Saturday night, were she is heard by a DJ agency that quickly proposed management. Soon Miss Sheila starts to spin on a regular basis, and in 2000 shes invited to do a couple of warm up sets for DJ Vibe at Club Rocks, the hottest underground club in the country at the time. Now she was getting much national attention and touring the country everywhere. In 2001 she was nominated for the best newcomer award by Dance Club Magazine, and since then on shes recieved lots of TV, magazine, and radio exposure. With a eight-year-long career.
Miss Sheila has gained notoriety for her vibes, weaving from, tribal to tech to progressive house or even techno, her style, technique and rhythm have earned her the title of one the top DJs of her country.
Miss Sheila has played at all major clubs and dance music festivals in Portugal.
Internationally she has played clubs in Spain, Belgium, Holland, France, Switzerland and the USA.
She has also played alongside many todays superstar DJs like John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Jaimy, John Creamer, Lexicon Avenue, DJ Vibe, Peace Division, Rui da Silva, Sandy Rivera, Different Gear, Felix da Housecat, Rob di Stefano, Silicon Soul, Danny Morales, Adam Freeland, Meat Katie, Martin Solveig, just to name a few.
In 2001 Miss Sheila released the track "Sheilas Temptation" co-produced with Joeski on Tango Records.
In 2002 she and DJ Sergio Oliveira remixed Midlight by portuguese producer Deep In, which was also included in the "Rock in Rio" 2004 CD compilation. Recently shes been working on some solo projects and hopes to release new titles sometime in the near future.
Miss Sheila has also released 2 mixed CDs: "Rocks - The Real Dance Club" in 2001 and "Supersonic Sessions Mixed Live By Miss Sheila" in 2003, that included the original "HighTimes" where she used aka "Urban Assault ft. Manny", both on Kaos Records. In 2006 she remixed "Melanie C - What Your Looking For", also on Kaos Records. Shes also on the Radio waves as special guest DJ at Total FM and Sagres FM Algarve, and has been on previous radio stations over the years. Miss Sheila has proved to be consistent, charasmatic and a friendly DJ, shes definitely taken female DJ ing into a whole new era in her country and now looks forward to showing the world why she is widely considered Portugals best female DJ.
