This week, we return to the Californian Blues-rocker, Joe Bonamassa, and the title track from his album "The Ballad of John Henry".
Don't be fooled by the apparent simplicity of this track; the phrasing is key to achieving the groove and feeling of this track. Pay particular attention to the stops; they're as important as the notes hit!
And the tuning....! B-Standard; B - E - A - D - F# - B, or every string detuned 5 semitones.
I'm chopped the song up a little for this video, simply to illustrate the two main riffs of the track. Those thinking about the verse (acoustic) sections; play around with an A-shape Minor chord on the 7th fret (this will be B Minor).
