DJ HYPER J

Hyper J has been a DJ for over 10 Years. His interest started at 11, when his brother DJ JP introduced him to UK Garage music mix cds such as "Lords of the underground" and "Ride the underground". Soon enough he started buying his own records by 14 and started to mix in the styles heard on pirate stations such as Ice, Freeze and Raw Mission Fm and Commercial ones such as the Tuff Jam and EZ shows on Kiss 100 as well as the Dreem Team show on Radio One. He bases his mixing on originality and buy an extensive selection of music that reflect an overall impression of the UK Club Scene. You could call it urban although he does not like to use this word in that contextThis music existed long before these labels were made. He is always trying to be original and he will never play the same set twice.
Since 2005 Hyper J has been specializing in UK Funky and Funky House music. His first taste for this came as a warm up for Hed Kandi In Colchester Essex. From this juncture he has not just held weekly shows across London airwaves on Touch FM, Laylow FM, Phatbeats and Lush FM, but also guested on Oxford FM. This led to Working With MC's such as Hyperactive, Viper, Crazy, Teller and Xcellence. This set the foundation for playing alongside PA's for Princess Nyah, Donaeo, Egypt, Meleka, Maxwell D & Dotstar.
Frequently situated in the West End, Hyper J in recent months has played alongside DJ EZ @ Scala, Kings Cross, DJ Footloose and DJ Naughty for the "POSH" promotion has held a year long residency at Stanza and has held residencies at Penthouse and most other clubs on the west-end circuit since 2004
From an international perspective, The demand for Hyper J has seen him play Across Kavos, Corfu and Amsterdam Holland, The Latter for the 'Simply Funky" and "2 Dam Funky" Promotions playing alongside the likes of Marcus Nasty, DJ Pioneer of Kiss 100 and DJ Cameo of BBC 1xtra.
Hyper J fully respects new artists trying to do their own thing and always tries to support them in the club, by showcasing their tracks He cites his current and favourite House & Funky producers as DJ Naughty, Screama, Naughty Raver, Digital Dubstar, Swindle, LR Groove, Lil Silva, Chang Sam, Black Coffee, Osunlade and Ralf Gum. He now finds himself aiming to be at the level of DJs he has long respected and admired. Never assume anything, and especially about him. Any feedback is always welcome because he does what he does for a continuous passion and love for music that has always been there in his life. Hyper J understands that he can always be better an always improve.
