EMIJAY (DJ PRODUCER) www.supernovamusic.eu - Artistically, Emiliano Nencioni is born during those years when the first House Music productions labeled Chicago (1987/1988) used to be en vogue in Italy. These sounds influence him stylistically and start characterizing his performances acquiring a totally recognizable and personal style. During this period of time, he has the chance to align the most innovative DJs on the turntables and to face indeed the most various sonorities and interpretations of the planet “house” to the point of enriching his own music proposal both artistically and technically. At this point, he begins to spin in the most important clubs, first in Florence and subsequently in the entire Peninsula until he starts performing in major European clubs and, recently, even in America end Asia. EMIJAY doesn’t like to be grouped under a single genre – to a DJ, music is a mission and his is to startle one’s soul and to create emotions and feelings no matter the genre or the vinyl. The most important thing is to always put forth high quality sounds selected with a slice of heart, to play them well and at the right time, to create a journey, a resonating story, a strong and direct physical contact between the listener and the performer…. These are his only rules both in the studio and during a DJ set. During EMIJAY’s live sets, the audience is blessed with house music, deep house, electro-funk and techno-minimal. The outcome is that feeling of a totally new sound package, label-less, groovy, avant-garde and engaging. His first important discographic effort, with partner Giacomo Godi, is “AfterBeach” – an intense album made of 12 tracks in which soft chill out rhythms elegantly blend with pounding grooves. The work is unanimously well received and people’s enthusiasm exceeds every expectations. The record, distributed only in Florence and in the surrounding areas, brings home great results both nationally and internationally. From this work, in fact, is born the single “Save a Prayer” distributed by BMG Ricordi and aired by every Italian radio station and included in many compilation among which “Suavis” and “NewClassics vol. 2” by RadioMonteCarlo. “Sud Sound Symphony” becomes the opening track to Giorgio Armani’s compilation “Armani Café 2” sold worldwide, “Ethernal” is used by many theater plays and is included in the Dutch airline KLM’s compilation track-list, and “Morning’s Vibrations” is included in the “Up Front Sound Cool Magazine” compilation distributed all over South America. All of the above is followed by the release of a second single “A Different Role” still on BMG Ricordi and previously unreleased. The track, along with a beautiful video clip aired by many Italian TV music stationsì, has had a good success as well. Hence, the phenomenon SUPERNOVA is born! And since then, many things have happened. Live DJ sets all over the world, the birth of an independent label, vinyl productions and several compilations, the production and conduction of a radio show dedicated to the house music and in February 2007 the release of their second album, the first officially distributed by Sony-BMG. Twelve alternative and electronic tracks which range from downtempo to the electro-funk embedded in hip hop, house music, techno-minimal and new wave! “DOWNTOWN UNDERGROUND” is about to come out – SUPERNOVA’s latest work!
