DJ DON MIGI

Don Migi born in Chile, South America, migrated to Perth where at the age of 12 started to get a passion for the art of Djing. Don Migi's first big break came at the long established mid week session at Margeaux's Nightclub where he soon established himself as one of the key players in the R&B scene. The Don also hit the ones and twos at the Hilton on the weekends, here he mastered the art of manipulating crowds from many musical genres and various age groups and is a key reason why he can still to this day, play to many diverse audiences.



The Don Migi is not only a prominent figure in the R&B scene but he is also a key player in the Latino scene where he is recognized as one of the top 5 Latino Djs in Australia. The Don Migi established the first major Latino night in Perth late November 1999, where at "Club Fiesta" at the Globe Nightclub, he was responsible for pulling crowds well in excess of 1000+ people on a weekly bases.



Club Fiesta was a major turning point for the Don and many doors began to be opened as he was recognized as a force to be reckoned with in the Perth scene. Through out the last 10 years has firmly entrenched himself as one of the top Djs in Perth and has gained a reputation for his R&B, Reggae, Reggaeton, Hip-Hop sets with a Latin influence that he has thrown down at some of the biggest events and the hottest clubs.



These clubs include Base Lounge, Margeaux's Nightclub, Ruby Room, Varga Lounge, Toucan Club, Orcinise, Bon Bonet, Soul City, The Globe, Club Fiesta, The CoCocobana, Marble Bar, Metro City, and The Palace, to name just a few. His current residencies include The Don rocking the ones and twos, Wednesdays at Margeaux's Nightclub, Fridays at Base Lounge and Sundays you can find him spinning at the Ruby Room at the Burswood Casino, on a night that he not only Djs but is also a co promoter. This Sunday session is currently pulling in over 600 people on a weekly bases and the Playaz Ball on the long weekends has pulled numbers over 2000+ while having to turn many away due to the room having already reached its capacity. Migi is also holding it down real strong in the Latin market where his Tuesday night at the Varga lounge is the premier Latino night that has been esatablished for over 5 years. Thurdays see this incredibly busy dj hitting the decks at the "The Deen" where he rocks the latest salsa sounds in ZONE 5 from 9pm till midnight & then heads into the main room to continue with a 2 hours R&B/HipHop/Reggaeton set from midnight till 2am.



To add to this The Don is now taking his style to the masses thru the power of radio with 2 unique shows. The Don alongside the S-man, bring one of the best live party rocking sets "Blok Party" every Saturday night on Groove 101.7fm from 9pm till midnight, playing the latest sounds in
R&B/HipHop/Dancehall/Reggaeton. Also every Monday you can catch The Don hosting the "Latin Mixmasters" show also on Groove 101.7fm from 10pm till midnight, which especialises in bringing the new sound of Reggaeton & Latin HipHop to Perth Australia, also being the only Reggaeton Radio of its kind in Australia. Both shows are here to stay and expect to hear more exciting developments as The Don perfects his Djing on Radio.
Added to this The Don has also played at international events such as Ministry of sound & Western Australia's Global Festival. International acts that The Don has played alongside include,Ying Yang Twins, Savage, Donell Jones, Boyz II Men, Next, Sean Paul, Cypress Hill, RZA, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Kelis, KC & JoJo, Montell Jordan, Dj Jazzy Jeff, Dj Rectangle, Dj Maseo, Dj C-Lo, Kenny Dope, Fred Wreck, Shade Shiest, and Dj Vice. While he has also been invited to Dj the after parties for touring acts such as the Rock Tha Block, Rumba, Craig David, De La Soul, Shaggy and so on.



As one can see The Don is a Dj that is making serious moves in both club land and international concerts. He is a unique party rocker that can rock any crowd in any situation be it with the decks or the mic. He is not only a key player in the R&B scene but a major heavy weight in the Latino market that sees him holding it down at the strongest nights in Perth. This Dj can rock any crowd in any situation and his ability to play many diverse music styles sets him apart from many other Djs in the scene.
