DESCRIPTION:
Me messing around with a song Chet Atkins wrote/orchestrated. I've been diving into alot of his music over the last 5 months (that's when I first picked up the "thumb pick") and I've been obsessed ever since! :) My first influence however was the great Merle Travis. I'm currently studying his music as well and trying to pick up on what I can. This song that Chet did is pretty tough because your playing 2 songs at the same time. "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "Dixie". What I play here is just the short version (Chet's version is longer and more involved with a band and all.. this is as much as I can do and make it sound decent) This is the first time I've recorded myself playing this. It isn't perfect I know but as I get better in the future I always like coming back to my old videos and seeing my progress. I'm gonna keep workin' hard to make Chester proud! :)
