The Diving Bell: Pacific Pearl Co. 1869 (Tiny Desk Session) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 18, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Chicago indie-folk band The Diving Bell presents this entry to NPR's Tiny Desk Contest. Four notes from a long-winded band: 1) This song is based on a true story about a groundbreaking submarine that was left on a beach in Panama in 1869 after it failed as a pearl-fishing vessel; 2) Yes, the drummer is pregnant. 8 1/2 months, as of the filming of this video. It means Clare is pretty much a rock star in every sense. 3) We filmed at Table of Typewriters, an extremely awesome coworking space in Chicago; 4) For more background on the song: http://divingbellmusic.tumblr.com/post/101392386488/behind-the-song-pacific-pearl-co-1869
