ITA: Quartetto jazz con sax tenore, tromba,organo Hammond e batteria. I musicisti riuniti in questo lavoro sono Federico Sportelli, Diego Frabetti, Sam Gambarini e Vittorio Sicbaldi. Il gruppo si e’ formato per esplorare il jazz mainstream degli anni ’50 e ’60. In particolare le composizioni di Horace Silver ed il Soul Jazz/ Hard Bop che fioriva proprio in quegli anni ad opera di musicista del calibro di Lee Morgan, Cannonball Adderley, Hank Mobley, Jimmy Smith e Grant Green. La formazione, in questa registrazione indipendente, esplora il sound sopracitato con 7 brani di maestri del Jazz come: M. Jackson, Silver, Adderley e Jobim. I due originali scritti da Sportelli e Gambarini si inseriscono in modo organico nel mood della musica esplorata durante la sessione.

ENG: A Jazz quartet with tenor sax, trumpet, drums and Hammond organ. The musicians gathered together for this session are Federico Sportelli, Diego Frabetti, Sam Gambarini and Vittorio Sicbaldi. The group was put together to explore the mainstream jazz of the 50s and 60s. In particular the compositions of Horace Silver and the Soul Jazz / Hard Bop idiom which flourished in those years by the likes of Lee Morgan musician, Cannonball Adderley, Hank Mobley, Jimmy Smith and Grant Green. The quartet, in this independent recording, explores the aforementioned sound with 7 tracks of Jazz masters like: Jobim, M. Jackson, Silver and Adderley while the two originals, written by Sportelli and Gambarini, fit well into the particular mood of the music explored during the session.
