DESCRIPTION:
In this tutorial I am explaining the functions of a gate/expander and what effect that it has on our signal. It has an influence on the dynamic range that is exactly the opposite as to what a compressor does.
We can use it to 'mute' background-spill or unwanted noise in between the dynamic peaks of our signal.
