Razorwire is a Thrash Metal band formed in the spring of 2006 in Mississauga, Ontario. They play old-school Thrash metal with a new-school vibe to it, appealing to both the older, as well as the newer fans of Thrash metal. Playing, fast, aggressive, in your face riffs, mixed with prominent bass-lines, fast, pounding drumming, and shredding solos, these 4 young thrashers have a great outline for what could prove to be the makings of another great Canadian Thrash band.

Razorwire takes their influences from not only the old-school Thrash bands, such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus, Overkill, and Nuclear Assualt to name a few, but also the new-school Thrash bands, such as Evile, Bonded By Blood, Warbringer, and Municipal Waste. It is clear they aren’t only influenced by Thrash but many other Metal sub-genres as well.

With the release of their 2008 Demo, Thrash or Die, Razorwire proved that they can persevere through rough times and through line up changes, the acquisition of Matt Zirnhelt just before the release of their demo makes him the third official guitarist of the band. But Razorwire still continues to push forward in the slowly growing metal scene of the GTA, playing countless shows at many venues, including the Opera House, and the Reverb, and playing along side many other great bands. On May 19th, 2008 Razorwire would take a large step forward in their career by opening up for Joey Belladonna, former lead singer of Legendary Thrash band Anthrax.

Although they are still young, Razorwire is looking to take the GTA’s metal scene by force, and will do whatever it takes to make a name for themselves in the metal scene in not only Canada, but around the world.
