DESCRIPTION:
Deb's Day... A celebration of life happened on April 12th, 2015 at the Caribbean Club on Key Largo in honor of our dear friend Deborah "Mom" Hawkins who lost her battle with terminal liver cancer on April 05 2015...

Deb's Day was chance to say goodbye to local musician and stronghold in our commUNITY, Debbie Hawkins, who fought the toughest battle of her life, terminal liver cancer. She has requested her family and friends come together to share a day of music and fun. She unfortunately passed before the event...
The Hawkins family has stepped up so many times for the commUNITY. Jimmy and Deb have never missed a benefit to help a needy family in the Upper Keys. Their friends have turned Deb's request into a benefit to help the Hawkins family with the extra expenses of Deb's last days and her medical bills.

Debbie Hawkins has been a part of the entertainment commUNITY in the Upper Keys for more than 30 years. She and Jimmy lived in the Redland area until damage from Hurricane Andrew forced them to relocate to Key Largo. The Keys gained a world-class blues band — Jimmy Hawkins and the Cylones, in which Deb sang. They were the house band at the Caribbean Club for many years.

Son Felix “The Catt” was in the Cyclones and has also gained local fame with his Baga Tricks band.

Daughter Felicia often brings granddaughters Arin and Megan, and grandson James to the family performances. Until recently, Deb worked for NAPA Auto Parts for more than 20 years.

Deb is also known for hosting karaoke at the Caribbean Club and Pilot House. She is an accomplished backup singer and often harmonizes with friends when performing.

Deb was loved by many because of her caring ways helping out so many in the commUNITY that she was given the nick name, "Mom"...

On April 12th, 2015, The Upper Keys Community joined the Hawkins family and friends at the Caribbean Club, mile marker 104 bayside, from 2 p.m. on. Music was provided by The Grateful Ted Band, Steve Venini, the Luke Sommer Glenn Band, Big Dick and the Extenders, Felix the Catt and Baga Tricks, David Feder and Band, Jimmy Hawkins & the Cyclones featuring; Terry Hanke, Steve Miller, Felix "The Catt" Hawkins, Lewis Rainbow with an appearance by Deb's friend Gabby.

It was a beautiful day of comUNITY and celebration of a dear friend's life, Deborah "Mom" Hawkins. We Love & Miss You Dear Heart... See you on the other side...
