DESCRIPTION:
Good afternoon everyone, well it was an overcast day January 15, 2007 at 12th and Porter, the place was right and stage was set and the band took to it like it was made just for them and they owned every square inch of it. The band warmed up and a few short minutes later, there step onstage an overwhelmingly talented and very pretty lady named Deanna Johnston. The moment she opened up and started singing the room was enthralled in excitement. The energy this woman produces on stage could light a small town all on her own, with the incredibly talented Shawn Rorie and Tina Springham, Deanna’s writing partners and band members, this short set that Deanna rang out will make history. Of this fact I’m sure. The members of the band all complimented each other in sound and were amazing high energy to watch and the sound was rich in southern rock. I have only met Deanna face to face once and it was a great moment for this writer to work with her and to have met such a warm hearted and down to earth person that Deanna is, Her personality is fun to be around and her friends all show the same courtesy and respect for each other that I personally admire and am very thankful for having a small part in that evening. My fwriend Rob also shared in the moment and was totally taken aback by the wonderful treatment these performers gave us, we were treated like long lost family and even invited to dine with them after the show at Rich Redmon’s direction as he gave us no choice. We were ordered to attend and did so happily. As a matter of fact we were so flattered that they even thought to include us. That right there made me a fwriend for life. There outward people skills are impeccable and their music incredibly intoxicating. Once bitten by the sound you only succumb to the infectious incredible tone and balance of talent when they’re present on stage and in person.
Deanna has garnered many a fan by her sheer vocal talent and genuinely Canadian attitude towards people and I can see her on the same stage as Shania Twain and other great artists someday in the very near future. Deanna I truly wish you all the success you deserve. You’ve earned every moment of it. Shawn and Tina you’re the best. All wonderful and talented people on your own, together you all kick butt. I hope you continue your alliances and I can only see a greater future for you all, what a team.
