Phil AKA “Phlipit” (drums): Doesn’t even know how to play the drums. We found him in a ditch. Influenced by: Tool, Incubus, Deftones.

The History:

Hello, and welcome to your intervention. In March 2009, with the mojo on the rise Ryan, Phil, Lenny and Mike, decided they needed a change. Their music was becoming more aggressive in nature and a little darker and heavier. They felt the need to grow beyond their current situation.

During the audition process for a strong lead singer, the band had found some talent (one had the look but not the drive, one was all Karaoke…etc…) but then came Kiana. She scared the hell out of us!!! In a fight, wed take her over Tyson…in his prime dammit (that’s gotta say something…)!!! The power in the vocals was there, and so was the passion. Things felt good. Everyone liked what was getting accomplished and everyone got along.

One night, while re-structuring songs, Kiana blurted out Kill Her Quickly, and the room fell silent. Everyone liked it. It clicked. On May 6th, Kill Her Quickly was born.

Given the short time span that the 4 original members were together with their previous project, they had accomplished some things they never thought possible.

In November 2008, they took the opportunity to record in the same rooms as Guns and Roses, Alexisonfire, Rush, and Christina Aquilera, at the world re-known Metalworks Recording Studio in Mississauga, Ontario, with an up and coming producer David Mohacsi.

The experience was that of a lifetime, but also a time to celebrate. After the first session was completed, at 5am, the boys hit up the jam studio and partied like it was 1989, watching the sun rise, drinking, smoking and listening to Def Leopard.

Prior to that, they had hit the stage with the likes of Die Mannequin, Scarlet Sins, Brown Brigade, Kris Rowe, Rumsfield, Hammered, and Leslie Carter (yea that’s right…we played with Nick’s Lil’ sis…so what?) to name a few. During that time, they gained important industry knowledge and wanted to take their careers to a higher level.

The Music

It’s always hard to classify your music in a category when the influences are extremely broad (everything from Jewel to Tool is an understatement for us) but the main thread is “happy with us”. We are extremely grateful to be able to write the music we do with such a diverse group of characters and make it make sense. Things are always difficult with 5 opinions, but in the end we make the whole process enjoyable.

Our Myspace and Facebook pages are made by us for you and run by each member of KHQ, so keep in touch with us as we are never afraid to talk to our fans…our friends. We will do whatever possible to make you happy (after all our music has affected you in some way so it’s only fair to back that up).

Have a good Morning/Day/Night,

Ryan, Phil, Kiana, Mike, Lenny.,
