Did you hear the rumour going around? Not the kind of broken telephone rumour that we all played in pre-school where we’d whisper secrets and tell stories that go nowhere by the end of the day. It’s actually about this band; Futures Past from Toronto, Ontario that covers many aspects of the musical spectrum with their Piano-Driven, R&B, Pop-Rock-Dance sound that has captivated audiences, and continues to invade iPods around the world. With their unique, radio-ready, upbeat songs, and their handsome, “all class” image; it comes to no surprise that the listeners have no choice but to adore them.

Although being unsigned, Futures Past has captivated an audience of 90,000+ fans worldwide, in which have joined their MySpace page. The page continuously tops 2000 plays a day. They have put together their own tours, recently touring the east-coast of Canada just this summer. Having played with Major Label acts such as Simple Plan, Hedley, Live, Faber Drive, The Ataris, Stereos, and The New Cities, Futures Past strives on attracting labels that will open doors to further their musical careers.

Futures Past recently released their new EP entitled “If Beauty Had a Name”. Their first single, “Something to Sing About” was featured on Much Music’s Disband where they got the thumbs up from the judges with rave reviews. The band was complimented on their classy image, unique sound, and powerful vocal performance. Greg Norris, well known from the band “Treble Charger” and his success as a producer quoted that he’d “Quit the Disband series if Futures Past didn’t get picked up”. Their second single “Remix It Up” is currently on rotation at Toronto’s 1 Rock Indie station (102.1 The Edge).

A Futures Past performance is something that’s not to be missed, with a wide variety of age groups attending their shows, you can’t really state that you’re too young or too old to have a great time with these guys. Whether you enjoy dancing, partying, singing, or even old school moshing, this band will ensure that their audience’s breath is taken away, with a hot and steamy work-out of crowd participation.

“Futures Past has what it takes”, and they don’t plan on that being an understatement anytime soon. They’re a multicultural band that is marketable to the world. With a little nudge, they are surely to become the next international superstars. The music is there, the image is there, the fans are there, and they are ready to make a dramatic impact on the future of music.
