David Newman (Durga Das) is a kirtan chant artist, sacred singer-songwriter and a practitioner and educator of Bhakti Yoga. Mira is a vocalist, musician, and poetess. She has recorded on many well-known chanting CDs, sharing her ethereal vocals and displaying her talents on cajon, kartals (finger cymbals), and kaimini (south Indian bells). The Sivananda Yoga Retreat provides an immersion experience into the daily practices of a yogic lifestyle. Established by Swami Vishnudevananda in the name of Master Swami Sivananda, the Ashram presents a balanced experience of Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga. The daily schedule includes meditation, pranayama (yogic breathing practices), asana (yoga postures) and study.
