David Kamakahi, son of slack key guitar master, Dennis Kamakahi, has been performing professionally since he first toured with Hui Aloha for Dancing Cat Records. He has performed with Dennis, with Herb Ohta Jr and others. Now he is the lead ukulele player for the Hoku Award winning group, Waipuna. Davis has some Hoku Awards for his own solo work too.
