Nique is a 17-year-old mogul intent on achieving big things. A full-time creator, she runs a popular hip hop website aimed at artists and hip hop heads alike, promotes other artists, and pens and records music. Split between several loves, she refuses to leave anything out, and wants to experience the satisfaction of achieving each of her dreams, simultaneously if at all possible.



"You only live once," is a motto she lives by. "I don't want to miss out on something amazing by focusing on one thing. So I'll do it all. Easy."



Born to a middle class family into a less-than-lavish lifestyle, Nique knows her share about hardships. But relocation to the suburbs at the age of 7 has certainly changed things. "It's bananas," she recalls. "One second, you're surrounded by minorities, the next second, you're in Suburbia. It's a change. I'm just lucky I was young when I experienced it, or I probably would have been shell-shocked". She spent many years doing as her peers did, saying only, "When in Rome," as an explanation. But somewhere along the line, she realized she was different.



"I was tired of being the same," she laughs. "I didn't look like them, sound like them . so why try to be like them? I wanted to be hip hop. So now, I think I'm hip hop. I think!"



Graduating in January of '09, she plans to live a "traditional" life - working a 9-to-5 - with a few unconventional perks.



"I'm not abandoning my website - never that! I'll stay recruiting members, stay promoting artists, stay focused. I can't let music go either; that's my baby. I guess my life will never be boring!"
