THE FROWN - DARK ART

The Frown, a South African creative collective of talented musicians, producers and designers ,lead by the dynamic Eve Rakow, have given the local music scene a firm and welcome slap to the face. The Frown sounds a call for the musical bar to be raised both live and in the media.

Following their success with the "MK music video project" for the video of their internationally acclaimed song "The National" there was no denying that this act was going to be noticed. Their appeal is wide spread, their reach, limitless.

Further to this sutraveling extensivelyn indie hit machine Spoek Mathambo has made use of Eve Rakow's vocals on his track "Melodi" , this track has had much commercial success both locally and Internationally as a download. Spoek and Eve's collaborations are an on-going project.

Eve Rakow is the wild child, creative head of the musically driven, fashion orientated collective: "The Frown". Rakow comes from humble beginnings, raised by a single mother in a small town South of Johannesburg. After graduating with honors in Drama and Directing from Wits university, Eve worked on various creative and musical projects. Floating between the flighty creativity of Cape Town and the work driven "Jozi" finally finding a happy medium in Illovo, where she is surrounded by the creative minds of Johannesburg but is not hampered by the slow go of the coastal life.
