The Pace Report: "Exposing The Secret Society" The Darcy James Argue Interview - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 20, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
2013 has a been a real busy year for composer and big band arranger Darcy James Argue. His Secret Society Big Band has been hailed and praised by music critics and fans both here in the US and abroad.

Argue's latest disc, Brooklyn Babylon, released on the New Amsterdam Records label further showcases the talented composer with his 18-piece Steampunk Orchestra. He fuses some elements of classical music, industrial rock elements, along with the usual jazz big band with a unique twist.

The Secret Society was started as a brainchild by Darcy while studying under NEA Jazz Master Bob Brookmeyer while attending the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. It was his love for the masters of big band composers by the likes of Thad Jones and Maria Schneider that got Darcy to want to become a band leader verses becoming a pianist.

Darcy will be going on tour with the Secret Society soon. For upcoming tour dates and to order his latest CD Brooklyn Babylon, please visit him online at www.secretsocietymusic.org.
